A mangalsutra is worn by every Hindu woman across the country. This is the most significant symbol in Indian culture. Every black bead in a mangalsutra is believed to have divine powers that protect the married couple forever from the darkness of the world. It is said that Hindu women starting from the early age are very much superstitious and in order to safeguard a relationship they wear it forever after their marriage.
